Description
Several areas of the statue were covered with blue paint. The paint appears to have been deliberately applied rather than caused by accidental contact.
A sample was collected from the statue's base and sealed in an evidence bag for laboratory examinaiton.
Initial Observations
The paint appears to be a dark blue restoration paint. Brush marks are visible in several areas, suggesting that the paint was applied using a paintbrush.
Connection to the Case
The paint was used during the vandalism of the statue. Investigators believe it may identify where the vandal obtained the materials.
A similar shade of blue paint was discovered inside the museums restoration workshop.

The paint could connect the vandal to the museum's restoration workshop. However, several people have legitimate access to the workshop, menaing it cannot identify the culprit by itself.
Investigator's Note
The paint wasn't thrown randomly. Whoever applied it appears to have deliberately selected particular areas of the statue. Detrmine whether the paint was intended to damage the statue or draw attention to something.
