What Happened?
At 7:42 AM on Thursday, 4 September, museum security discovered that the historic Westbrook Founder Statue had been vandalised during the night.
The statue, which had stood in the museum courtyard for almost 80 years, was found covered in blue paint, with several sections of its stone base damaged. A small metal plaque attatched to the fron had also been removed.
Security footage shows that four people had legitimate reasons to be inside the museum grounds that evening. However, something doesn't add up.
The museum's security system recorded a 12-minute camera blackout between 11:48 PM and midnight.
Someone had knowledge that the cameras would stop recording.
One of them vandalised the statue.
