A partial fingerprint was recovered from the wooden handle.

Connection to the Case

The blue paint on the brush is visually consistent with the paint found on the statue.

The brush may have been discarded by the person responsible for the vandalism.

The partial fingerprint may potentially identify whoever handled the brush. The brush also provides evidence that the vandal was physically present in the courtyard.

Investigator's Note

Why leave the brush behind? Either the suspect panicked or they wanted us to find it. Fingerprint analysis should be prioritised.
